It’s that time of year again- The 2012 GAMA International LAMP conference is quickly approaching which means our Digital Media Award (DMI) preparations are underway.

This spring, the Edulence team will be traveling to bright and sunny Orlando, FL, March 18th-20th, for the conference. We are excited to announce a whole new lineup of nominees for each of the four industry categories, in addition to one brand new category- “Content Distribution”.

Stay tuned for upcoming posts which will include: Announcing the nominees, explaining the four categories, and a few more highlighting all of the award preparations leading up to the big event.

Our Favorite 4th of July Apps

Next to Christmas, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. Sure Christmastime brings holiday cookies, pretty decorations, and of course presents-but, what’s better than lounging on the beach (or poolside), barbecuing with friends and family and watching the fireworks?

Although the exchange of presents isn’t involved, you might just consider treating yourself to one of the apps listed below instead. If you want to have the best 4th of July celebration ever, any (or all) of the following recommended apps would be useful for the upcoming holiday weekend. Now I just have to go buy an iPhone….

1. Grill-It! This app is great for the BBQ beginner, but also for the grill master. The Grill-It! app provides various grilling recipes and pictures which include not only burger and steak ideas, but recipes for vegetables and other sides as well.

2. The Weather Channel Interactive Unfortunately Mother Nature sometimes likes to be cruel (read: this past winter). The Weather Channel app will at least help you detect any evil weather on the horizon before you get caught in a rainstorm at the beach.

3. Texas Monthly BBQ Stormy weather in the future? Don’t let a torrential downpour ruin your plans. Use the Texas Monthly BBQ app to find your nearest BBQ joint. Sure it might not be as good as Mom’s potato salad, but whether it’s take-out or dining in, BBQ is a must on the 4th.
